Strategic Plan 2026 – 2029

2SER Future Conversations

Join us in developing our 2026 – 2029 Strategic Plan. A platform for story. A pathway for storytellers.

UTS Building - Home of 2SER

Welcome – you are invited!

As 2SER enters its next phase of renewal and development, the 2SER Future Conversations process invites you to engage in shaping the organisation's future direction. For 47 years, 2SER has contributed to Sydney's cultural, educational and community life through broadcasting, journalism, music, storytelling, training and participation.

Today, 2SER operates within a number of interconnected ecosystems. These include education and learning; arts and culture; public-interest media; the broader precinct and partnership environment in which the station is located; and the knowledge networks that connect researchers, practitioners, communities and lived experience.

Together, these ecosystems create opportunities for 2SER to strengthen its role as a broadcaster, storyteller, educator, cultural contributor and community platform. The 2SER Future Conversations process will provide a foundation for the development of 2SER's future strategic direction and inform subsequent governance, operational planning and stakeholder engagement activities.

As we enter the next phase under the stewardship of the University of Technology Sydney having a strategic plan is vital. In 2029 2SER celebrates its 50th anniversary – this Strategic Plan 2026 – 2029 will guide us as we move towards and through this significant milestone in our story.

About

The Future Conversations process is structured, respectful, transparent and future-focused. The process invites people into a meaningful conversation about the future of 2SER and ensures that the organisation's future vision, mission, values and strategic priorities are informed by the people who know, value, support and sustain it.

The consultation process seeks to:

  • engage the 2SER community in conversations about the future of the organisation
  • explore 2SER's future role as an educational, storytelling and digital media platform
  • identify shared aspirations, opportunities and priorities
  • inform development of a future vision, mission and values framework
  • identify strategic priorities for the next three years
  • strengthen relationships between staff, volunteers, broadcasters, listeners and stakeholders
  • create opportunities for ongoing participation and contribution
  • support organisational renewal and long-term sustainability.

The 2SER Future Conversations process is framed around eight (8) focus areas
